A Crock Pot Recipe

Make_delicious_crockpot_recipes_with_Andrew_G_Gordon_IncWe all under-utilize our crockpots…..

Wouldn’t it be great to prepare something ahead of time and have it be done and ready to eat when you get home from work?

Before you even start, I would suggest that you have a crockpot that has the removable pot.  Don’t get one that is one piece – cleaning can be much too difficult if you are trying to wash the pot and keep the electrical parts dry.  Most of the new ones come this way and if you google CrockPots you can find many for less than $20.  You should get one that has at least a 3 Quart capacity.

So, on to a great recipe that you can change up very easily:

Crock Pot Lasagna

Mix together:

1)      1 lb gound beef or turkey (or if you want something spicier – Italian sausage) – browned and drained

2)      1 can spaghetti sauce

3)      1 can diced tomatoes

4)      2 cups ricotta cheese

5)      1 egg

6)      ½ cup mozzarella

7)      ½ cup parmesan

8)      If desired – add veggies

Start layering:

1)      ½ cup meat sauce

2)      Lasagna noodles to fit (break as needed)

3)      ½ cup meat sauce

4)      Lasagna noodles

5)      ½ cup meat sauce

6)      Lasagna noodles

7)      Top with remaining meat sauce and about 1 cup each of parmesan and mozzarella cheese

Cover and cook on low about 3 – 5 hours.

You can change this recipe in so many ways – Don’t get bogged down in exact measurements – It will be delicious not matter what you do!!

Enjoy!!
