Cranberry Nut Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh ormelodi_cranberries_in_bowl-resized-600 frozen cranberries  
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts         
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 °F.

Generously butter a 9-inch pie pan and layer cranberries on bottom of pie plate. 

Sprinkle with brown sugar and your favorite nuts.  

In a bowl beat the egg until thick, gradually add sugar, beating until  thoroughly blended.  Stir in flour and melted butter; blend well. Pour the mixture over the layer cranberries. 

Bake the pie for 45 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.  Makes 6 servings.
