3 Ways to Reducing Risk Tips for Driving

Written by Sue Bird | Thu, Mar 19, 2015 @ 07:50 PM

It seems that we had fewer auto accidents this winter just because people weren’t driving as much. (Or maybe it’s just that we had SO many homeowners claims!)  Now that the snow is melting & the weather is nicer, people are venturing out more in their cars. Remember these simple guidelines for reducing risk when driving:

  1. Focus! Focus on the task at hand. Avoid electronic devices, applying make-up, eating etc.    http://www.nhtsa.gov/About+NHTSA/Press+Releases/NHTSA+Survey+Finds+660,000+Drivers+Using+Cell+Phones+or+Manipulating+Electronic+Devices+While+Driving+At+Any+Given+Daylight+Moment

  2. Take it easy.  I’m guilty of this.  Allow yourself more time to reach your destination - drive a little slower.

  1. Don’t drink & drive. If you must drink at that St. Patty’s day party, have a designated driver take you home. Drunk driving is extremely dangerous and has serious consequences.
