Applications are underway for Massachusetts Cannabis licenses! 
The Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) began accepting priority applications in April of this year for Registered Marijuana Dispensaries (RMD) and Economic Empowerment licenses through its portal www.massciportal.com.
Starting May 1st, the CCC will begin accepting applications for Cultivation Marijuana Microbusinesses, Craft Cooperatives, Independent Testing Labs, Lab Agents, and Transport.
On June 1st, non-priority applications will be accepting for retail and marijuana product manufacturers.
Retail operations will be permitted to open under state law effective July 1st, subject to local municipal regulations.
Retail operations will have to deal with increasingly difficult operational challenges caused by financial institutions not willing to run afoul of current federal laws requiring businesses to handle all transactions in cash, including payroll, taxes and even insurance.
